Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 32092 Riverside Plaza Dr Riverside Plaza, DE 19966

On Monday evening, July 24^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was originally alerted for a vehicle fire on Riverside Plaza Drive off Oak Orchard Road.  The incident was amended to a vehicle accident after the initial dispatch. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80, Rescue 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, assistance with separation of the vehicles because they were entangled together, traffic control, and removal of vehicles from the travel lanes awaiting the towing company.

It appears that a black Chevrolet Spark compact car and a Mazda SUV type vehicle collided on Riverside Plaza Drive entering the apartment complex facility.  There were no injuries associated with the incident and one vehicle was rendered inoperable.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
