Nature: Medical Emergency Assistance

City: Pot Nets Seaside - On the Beach

On Sunday morning, July 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist with a medical emergency in the Pot Nets Seaside development off Long Neck Road.  Indian River was requested to provide manpower assistance and one of its all-terrain vehicles for a medical emergency on the beach at Pot Nets Seaside.  It was reported to a female subject floating on the raft in the water unconscious.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facility and Utility 80-8 with Polaris 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional information requested a landing zone assignment for the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2 that was making a response.

Emergency response crew assignments included the establishment of the landing zone assignment because the patient was being provided EMS care and loaded into the ambulance.  All responding units from Indian River were directed to the designated helipad location.   The aviation unit did land and its trooper medic was utilized to provide medical care to the patient being transported to nearby medical facilities.

Indian River units immediately departed the Pot Nets Seaside location because of another emergency incident within the fire district.
