Nature: Lightning Strike (Investigate)

Location: 26093 Sheriffs Trap Ct Sherwood Forest North, DE 19966

On Wednesday morning, July 19th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a residential lightning strike incident on Sheriffs Trap Court in the Sherwood Forest development off John J. Williams Highway.   An occupant reported that the garage was struck by lightning.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Other apparatus from Indian River were previously dispatched to a prior lightning strike incident in the area.

Emergency response crew assignment included an exterior and interior evaluation of the residential structure and consultation with the owner yielded no additional concerns.

All units were permitted to return to their respective stations.
