Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 2 Waterside Lane, Pinewater Farms, DE 19951

On Sunday morning, June 25, 2023, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82), and Rehoboth Beach (86) fire companies were alerted for a structure fire incident in the Pinewater Farms development.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency response units included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with fire suppression activities, positive pressure ventilation, check for extension, and evaluation of the incident at hand.

It appears that the residential structure encountered a small appliance or electric hand tool appliance that caught fire inside the lower level of the residential structure.  Initial arriving fire suppression units assisted the residential homeowner with evaluation to assure that their efforts with the fire extinguisher were beneficial. Efforts to assist with smoke eradication included positive pressure tactics and natural ventilation.
