Indian River Mourns the Passing of Chief Emeritus and Life Member – Irvin W. Moore

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is saddened to announce the passing of Irvin W. Moore

Irvin was an extremely active volunteer firefighter for many years serving in a variety of offices and positions to assist his community in need.  Indian River extends its condolences and deepest gratitude to the families and loved ones of Irvin.

Irvin applied to join the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company in September, 1954 as part of an inaugural group of junior members and became instrumental in many duties and responsibilities during his active tenure over the next few decades.

During his tenure with Indian River, Irvin served as Chief for six consecutive years from January, 1972 thru December, 1977.  Irvin was awarded the "Chief Emeritus" title on December 11, 1998 for his outstanding service and dedication to the volunteer fire service, as well as Indian River.  Irvin's insight and organizational skills helped develop Indian River in the organization it is today.

We wish to offer the Moore Family as well as any extended families and friends our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
