On Sunday evening, June 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a landing zone assignment associated with a medical emergency in the Pot Nets Lakeside development off Long Neck Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 and Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

The landing zone was established off Long Neck Road near the entrance to Leisure Point (Sun Outdoors – Rehoboth Bay) and the patient was loaded for transport to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the closure of the roadway during the incoming and outgoing flight patterns.
