Nature:  Incident Response Synopsis

Area:  Indian River Fire District – Long Neck

On Friday June 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for numerous automatic fire alarms (AFA) or citizen assist incident and provided services which are summarized herewith:

Nature: Citizen Assist / Service Call

Address: Robin Hoods Loop Sherwood Forest North, DE 19966

Cross Streets: Long Bow Ct/Golden Arrow Ct

Emergency response units included the Millsboro (83) EMS Services, Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility.

The incident required helping the resident from the vehicle inside their residence.  A stair chair and manpower lifting assistance was needed to facilitate the closure of the incident.

Nature: Alarms - Mobile home, house trailer, portable office - Carbon monoxide

Address: 35611 East Harbor Dr White House Beach, DE 19966

Cross Streets: Boat House Ln/Fiddler Crab Ln

Emergency response units included Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

The incident was that multiple CO detection alarms were going off inside the residential structure. An interior evaluation and gas detector monitoring was needed.

Nature: Alarms - Residential (Single) - Smoke detector

Address: 138 Teal Dr Creeks End, DE 19966

Cross Streets: Woodduck Dr/Pintail Dr

Emergency response units included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.   

The incident synopsis was that the first floor smoke detection device(s) were sounding.

It appears that the incident was the result of a culinary mishap which required positive pressure and natural ventilation to be initiated.
