Nature: Vehicle Accident

Early Tuesday morning, May 30^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road between the developments of Mariner’s Cove and Paradise Cove.  It was reported to be a single vehicle versus a utility pole.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad. 

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization if needed, traffic control, vehicle stabilization where needed, notification of the utility service provider for pole replacement, and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a white sedan was traveling on Long Neck Road and left the roadway and struck a utility pole.  The utility pole did break and needed replacement.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
