Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Long Neck Rd and Lakeshore Blvd Pot Nets Lakeside, DE 19966

On Sunday afternoon, May 28^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on Long Neck Road at Lakeshore Boulevard.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics, the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization if needed, patient stabilization if needed, traffic control, and overall incident mitigation.  Due to the nature of the incident many of the unneeded emergency response units were cancelled while responding to the incident location.

It appears that a white Ford Transit van and a Harley Davidson motorcycle collided at or near the intersection of Long Neck Road and Lakeshore Blvd.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
