Nature: Elevator/Escalator Rescue

Location: 33586 Windswept Dr., The Peninsula, DE 19966

On Sunday, May 14^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an elevator rescue on Windswept Drive in the Peninsula.  It was reported to have an elevator stuck near the third floor of the facility with occupants inside.

Emergency response units from Indian River Volunteer Fire Company included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with extrication of the elevator occupants.  Notification of the property management contractor for necessary repairs and maintenance of the elevator.

The incident was placed under control when the elevator occupants were removed.
