Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Cannon Rd & Mount Joy Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday morning, June 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle accident on Cannon Road near Mount Joy Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle into a ditch off of Cannon Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police, the Delaware State Police, and the local emergency medical services provider.

Emergency response crew assignment included vehicle stabilization, assist with patient stabilization if needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, as well as scene mitigation.  Engine #80-1 was cancelled while traveling to the incident location.

It appears that blue compact Chevrolet was traveling west on Cannon Road and lost control, running off the roadway, into a ditch.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated limited traffic patterns on Cannon Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
