Nature: Structure Fire – Assist Rehoboth Beach (86)

Location: 21 Corofin Lane, Kinsdale Glen, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971

Early Saturday morning, April 22^nd, the Bethany Beach (70), Indian River (80), and Lewes (82) fire departments were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) Volunteer Fire Company with a residential structure fire on Corofin Lane in the Kinsdale Glen development off Country Club Road in Rehoboth.  It was reported to be a working structure fire with the garage area fully involved.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine#80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included two engines to the incident location. While enroute to the incident, the assignments were amended to one engine to the incident location and one engine to Rehoboth Station #2 for a standby assignment.  Once on location, the engine crew assignment included reporting to the manpower pool with tasks being amended for assistance with suppression, overhaul and clean up. 

It appears that Rehoboth Beach was dispatched for fully involved garage fire with exposure concerns.     

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.

Early morning fire destroys Rehoboth home

An early morning fire on April 22 has destroyed a home near Rehoboth Beach.

The blaze occurred about 1:15 a.m. at 21 Corofin Lane in the Kinsale Glen community west of Route 1. The home was completely engulfed, and the fire also severely damaged a vehicle and the side of a neighboring home.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
