Nature: Multi Residential Fire

Location: Hydrant @ Bethpage & Congress

Address:  18862 Bethpage Dr Heritage Village, DE 19958

On Tuesday, April 18^th, the Indian River (80), Milton (85) and Rehoboth Beach (86) fire companies were alerted to assist the Lewes (82) Fire Department with a multi residential structure fire on Bethpage Drive in Heritage Village near the American Classic Golf Course.  It was originally reported as an outside fire an upgraded to the structure fire.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response units from Indian River were assigned to a Level 1 Staging Assignment until Engine #80-3 was delegated as a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) assignment.

Additional emergency incident information was received apprising responding fire resources of exploding propane tanks with smoke showing from two-story middle of row townhouse with potential smoke inhalation and burn injuries.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene access for the during of the duration of the incident.
