Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Entrapment (Rescue Company Assist)

Location: 22471 Harbeson Rd., Harbeson, DE 19951

On Friday, April 14^th, the Indian River (80) and Milton (85) fire companies were alerted to assist the Lewes (82) Fire Department with a motor vehicle entrapment on Harbeson Road in the vicinity of Danfield Acres. It was reported to be a single vehicle rollover with entrapment.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation unit – Trooper #2.

It appears that a black SUV was traveling on Harbeson Road and left the roadway for an unknown reason, overturning and causing significant damage to the vehicle with occupant entrapment.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with this segment of Harbeson Road being closed for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
