Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Indian Mission Rd and Phillips Branch Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday evening, March 14^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road in the vicinity of Phillips Branch Road.  It was reported to be a motorcycle accident and reporting person was non-compliant with Emergency Operations Center inquiries in ordeer to prioritize dispatch resources.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization if needed, fluid and debris recovery where needed, traffic control, and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a scooter type motorcycle was traveling on Indian Mission Road and struck a tree causing injury to the cyclist.  The aviation unit was not needed and cancelled.  The local emergency medical service provider transported one to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
