Nature: Structure Fire - Assist Rehoboth Beach

Location: 155 Cornwall Rd Rehoboth Beach Yacht & Country Club, DE 19971

 

On Tuesday, March 7th, the Lewes (82), Bethany Beach (70), Indian River (80), Milton (85), Millsboro (83), and Millville (84) fire companies were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) Volunteer Fire Company with a working structure fire on 155 Cornwall Road in the Rehoboth Beach Yacht & Country Club.

Initial telephone reports to emergency operation centers identified a working structure fire with heavy fire and smoke showing.  Initial arriving emergency responders requested assistance from Lewes and Bethany Beach with two engines from each station to the incident location.  Indian River and Milton were initially requested for an engine cover up assignment at the Rehoboth Beach and Lewes fire stations.  Shortly thereafter, all standby crews were reassigned to the incident location for additional manpower needs and additional resources requested to backfill mutual aid stations.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.

Rehoboth Beach Fire crews responded to a House Fire at 155 Cornwall Rd in Rehoboth Beach Yacht & Country Club at 1018 am on Tuesday March 7. Arriving firefighters found fire showing from the structure with the occupants leaving the residence. Rehoboth Firefighters were assisted by Lewes, Bethany Beach, Milton, Indian River, Millsboro and Millville Firefighters battling the blaze for 2 hours before getting it under control. One firefighter suffered a heat stress injury and was treated at the scene. None of the occupants were injured. The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating. Crews were on scene for over 3 hours.

Fire burns Rehoboth country club home - March 7, 2023

A blaze March 7 damaged a home in the Rehoboth Beach Yacht & Country Club development.

Firefighters with the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Co. and surrounding departments responded at 10:18 a.m. Active fire was shown coming from the garage of a home at 155 Cornwall Road.

Multiple Agencies Respond to House Fire at Rehoboth Beach Country Club

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - Multiple agencies are responding to a house fire in the Rehoboth Beach Yacht and Country Club, including the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company, as of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. The fire is occurring at a house on Cornwall Road.

WRDE is on the scene. Firefighters can be seen on the roof of an attached garage, which appears to be where most of the fire is.

The cause and extent of the fire damage has not yet been confirmed.

Rehoboth Fire Causes Estimated $250,000 in Damage

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal has reported a fire in Rehoboth Beach today has caused an estimated $250,000 in loss.

The fire occurred just after 10:00 a.m. today on the 100 block of Cornwall Road at a single family dwelling. The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company arrived to find flames and smoke emitting from the structure. Though the home was occupied at the time, all occupants escaped without injury. Additionally, no firefighters were reported injured.

The fire was determined to be accidental and thought to be caused by discarded smoking materials.
