Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Captains Grant

Address:  Oak Orchard Rd and Hershel Davis Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday, March 1^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Oak Orchard Road in the vicinity of Captains Grant.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics. 

Emergency response units from Indian River were Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility prior to be cancelled while responding.  All responding EMS and fire first responders were cancelled while responding.

It appears that a Ford Explorer SUV was attempting to access the entrance to Captains Grant and left the roadway traveling into a ditch and striking a tree.  There were reports of another vehicle involved but it did not remain at the incident location.

All responding apparatus and emergency response resources were cancelled prior to their arrival.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
