Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, February 18^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Long Neck Road.  It was reported as unknown type vehicle accident involving two vehicles with inability to obtain additional incident information.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck location as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control with closure of John J. Williams Highway for the duration of the incident, assistance with patient stabilization if needed, fluid and debris recovery, and incident mitigation.

It appears that a Chevrolet Bolt EVO and a Dodge Dart collided causing significant damage to both driver’s side (left front ends) of both vehicles rending them inoperable. 

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
