Nature: WRDE & Spicer Brothers Salute – Captain Joseph Keller, Jr.

On Thursday, February 16, 2023, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was notified that Captain Joseph Keller, Jr. would be recognized by WRDE and Spicer Brothers Salute.

We salute Joseph Keller - Joe has been a member of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company since 2013. Since this time period, Joe has learned and strives to be a leader and mentor to younger firefighters. Joe was recently appointed Captain for the year. In 2019, Joe relocated to South Carolina to pursue paramedic training and completed the program in 2020.  Joe worked as a medic in Florence County before relocating back to Delaware in 2021.  During this transition period, Joe worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) while pursuing the opportunity to join the Sussex County Emergency Medical Services Team as a Paramedic.
