Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Shore Plaza Blvd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday morning, February 3^rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway and Shore Plaza Blvd near McDonald’s and Wawa.  The reporting person merely heard a band, did not stop, and did not have any additional information.   

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 and Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad for EMS services.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery, as well as incident mitigation.

It appears that a Dodge Ram Pick Up and a Nissan Frontier Pick up collided at the entrance way into the commercial complex off John J. Williams Highway.  Both vehicles sustained significant damage.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
