Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Layton Davis Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday evening, January 25^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Layton Davis Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle incident with the possibility of two patients.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient stabilization if needed, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and incident mitigation.

It appears that a Honda Passport SUV was traveling on John J. Williams Highway when it was struck from behind by a red Honda Accord sedan causing damage to both vehicles.  The EMS providers transported one person to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
