Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location:  John J Williams Hwy and Sloan Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday morning, December 7^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway east of Sloan Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with unknown status of injuries.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where needed, traffic control with the closure of John J. Williams Highway for the duration of the incident, assistance with patient stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a black Subaru and a silver Jeep Rubicon collided causing front end damage to the Subaru and extensive rear end damage to the Jeep.  After the initial collision, the Jeep also was in contact with a nearby utility pole.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident This segment of John J. Williams Highway was temporarily closed pending clearing of the accident vehicles.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
