Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Thursday evening, November 10^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway near Weis Market.  It was identified as a single vehicle incident east of Weis Market on John J. Williams Highway.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included fluid and debris recovery if needed, traffic control, and incident mitigation.

It appears that blue Nissan Sentra was traveling east on John J. Williams Highway near Baywood Greens and struck a deer causing significant damage to the vehicle.

The Delaware Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
