Nature: Long Neck Elementary School PTO – Trunk or Treat

On Saturday, October 22, 2022, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was invited to participate in Long Neck Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization’s Trunk-or-Treat Event

At a trunk or treat, participants decorate their cars and offer candy in a central gathering spot – for example, a parking lot of a school, church or local business. Kids dress up in costumes and go from car to car to collect their treats as well as participate in various recreational activities sponsored by community services entities.  Many of these community services organizations offer trunk-or-treating events as a safer, less-spooky alternative to traditional trick-or-treating yet promoting public safety initiatives.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company offer fire prevention and safety information dissemination as well as an opportunity to Touch-A-Truck while enjoying an afternoon of recreation and entertainment.  The event hosted activities like:  trunk-or-treat activities, take home crafts, moonbounce, corn pool with prize, face painting, touch-a-truck (fire truck), pumpkin tic tac toe, and many surprises.
