Nature: Alarm Sounding
Location: 26337 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966
On Friday, September 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an alarm sounding incident on John J. Williams Highway.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80-15 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response crew assignment included exterior evaluation of the residential structure, access for an interior evaluation, as well as over incident mitigation.
Crews did evaluate exterior and interior aspects of the location and determined the incident was caused by inattentive cooking. No one was in the residential structure at the time of the incident. Positive pressure ventilation was utilized to eradicate the smoke condition from the residence.
