Monday May, 25 2015 @ 17:22 Nature: Water Rescue Priority 1 Location: 38 35'44.44"N & 075 05'18 Ocean View, DE 19970 On Monday, May 25th, the Indian River (80), Bethany Beach (70), Millville (84), the Delaware State Police Aviation (Trooper 2) and the Sussex County Paramedics were alerted for a water rescue priority in the Indian River Bay reportedly near Quillen’s Point. It was identified as two persons in a kayak overturned. Emergency response units from Indian River included 80 Marine 2 from the Long Neck facility as well as 80 Marine 1 from the Oak Orchard facility. Both units were launched from the Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp and dispatched to the incident location. Emergency response crew via 80 Marine 2 quickly located the kayak and mariners which has righted their vessel. 80 Marine 2 transported the mariners while 70 Marine 1 transported the kayak back their original launching points. All other emergency response units were cancelled and returned to quarters. The mariner’s did not need any additional services.
