Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

On Sunday evening, September 4^th,  the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Rd at Bayside Bait and Tackle.   Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.  Other reports to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) advised of a vehicle into a building, with unknown injuries and unknown on entrapment. With this additional information, Sussex EOC dispatched Delaware State Police Aviation Trooper 2 and the Sussex County Technical Rescue Team.

Emergency response units Indian River included Engines 80-1 and 80-3 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, assistance with patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, and incident mitigation. 

The initial arriving responders located the vehicle into the porch area of the building with no patient entrapment.   All vehicle occupants refused transport to the hospital facilities.

The aviation unit and tech rescue team were cancelled while responding.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
