Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Indian Mission Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday morning, September 4^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Indian Mission Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision closer to the entrance to the Nanticoke Crossing Shopping Center on John J. Williams Highway.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engines #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Other ancillary alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and incident mitigation.

It appears that a Toyota Tundra pick up and a Buick Encore compact car collided on John J. Williams Highway in the area of the entrances to Weis Market and Dash-In Shell Station.

The Delaware State Fire Police were ordered to close John J. Williams Highway between Banks Road and Indian Mission Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
