Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Bulls Eye Lane and John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday afternoon, August 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Bulls Eye Lane.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle accident.

Emergency response apparatus from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Millsboro EMS, and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization if needed, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and incident mitigation.

It appears that Jeep Wrangler and a Honda Civic sedan collided on John J. Williams Highway.  The Jeep was awaiting for a vehicle to turn left and it was struck by the Honda Civic. One occupant was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.  This segment of John J. Williams Highway was temporarily closed for the duration of the incident clean up.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
