Nature: Indian River Continues Duty Crew Assignments
Location: Oak Orchard – Station #1
On Friday, August 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company continued utilizing the evening Duty Crew Cohorts at Station #1 from 6 p. to 12 midnight to coordinate various apparatus and station activities.
This duty crew assignment at the Station #1 included apparatus cleaning, facility cleaning, misc. repairs, and apparatus large diameter hose (LDH) replacement.
This large diameter hose replacement was the result of annual hose testing and certification requirements which yielded the need for hose replacement initiatives to prevail.
It should be mentioned that these duty crews are in addition to the routine community commitments for fire prevention presentations, community risk reduction engagements, breakfast buffet and dinner engagements and their respective fire school training requirements.
