Nature: Vehicle Accidents – Long Neck Road Area

On Friday, August 26^th the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for two minor rear-end type vehicle accidents in the Long Neck Road area:

1.  Location: School Lane and Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Vehicles were positioned on the shoulder of the roadway while EMS evaluated the occupants of the vehicles.  This incident involved three (3) vehicles with minor damage to all.

2. Location: John J Williams Hwy and Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80, Tanker 80 and Utility 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Fire Police.

This incident involved multiple vehicles with minor damage as well.

In both instances, the Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
