Monday May, 11 2015 @ 05:17 Nature: Vehicle Accident Location: John J Williams Hwy & William Street Road, Millsboro, DE 19966 Early Monday morning, May 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of William Street Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle overturned after striking a utility pole with live electrical wires down. Emergency response units included Rescue 80, Chief 80 from the Oak Orchard area as well as Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area. The Sussex County Paramedics, Millsboro VFC Ambulance and the local EMS providers responded to the incident as well the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency crew response assignments were patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control for the duration, as well as perimeter safety and security. It appears that a single vehicle, gold 4-door sedan was traveling eastbound on John J. Williams Highway and lost control for an unknown reason striking a utility pole and overturning. The occupants of the vehicle were transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation. The Delaware Department of Transportation (DELDOT) was called to arrow board assistance. The utility power company was required to respond prior to accessing the vehicle. The Delaware State Fire Police provided a temporary detour for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating. A car hits a pole in Oak Orchard and flips onto its roof.
The accident happened just before 5:30 this (Monday) morning on Route 24 just past Paradee Gas near the Royal Farm store. |
