Nature: Vehicle Accident Serious

Location: Holly Patch Ln & Hollymount Road, Harbeson, DE 19951

On Sunday evening, May 10th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Holly Mount Road in the vicinity of Holly Patch Lane. It was reported to be involving a motorcycle.

Emergency response apparatus include Recue 80 and 80 Incident Command from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-1 and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility. The Delaware State Fire Police, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the local EMS provider as responded.

Emergency response crews were assigned to assist with patient assessment, vehicle stabilization, if necessary, and close Holly Mount Road for the duration of the incident.

It appears that the motorcycle was traveling on Holly Mount Road and encountered a deer causing the motorcyclist to loss control.

One occupant of the motorcycle was transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
