On Saturday, May 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway between Long Neck Road and Baywood Greens. It was reported to be two vehicles with minor injuries when one vehicle was struck from behind.
Emergency response units included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police and the local emergency medical services provider.
Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, scene mitigation and traffic control.
During the incident, the eastbound traffic on John J. Williams Highway was detoured via Long Neck Road to Banks Road or Indian Mission Road.
The Delaware State Police are investigating. |
