Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Cedar Tree Medical Center 32711 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday evening, May 8th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity to Cedar Tree Medical Center. It was reported to be three vehicles.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, as well as Engine #80-1 and 80 Incident Command from the Long Neck facility. The Delaware State Fire Police and the Delaware State Police were also available.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, debris clean-up and fluid recovery along with traffic control and scene mitigation.

It appears that a black Kia sedan was struck on the passenger side of the vehicle causing substantial damage by a Honda SRV. The Honda and a Toyota sedan both appear to have traveling south on Long Neck Road came to stop in the Cedar Tree Medical Center facility while the Kia was blocking the southbound traffic on Long Neck Road.

One driver was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the traffic while Long Neck Road was closed for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
