Nature: Mock Training Exercise – Vehicle Accident

Location: Sussex County Inland Bay Facility

On Wednesday evening, April 30, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company hosted a mock training exercise simulating a multi-car vehicle accident on Inland Bay Road with multiple patients, entrapment, downed utility lines with a chemical release.

Emergency response crews from the Oak Orchard and Long Neck stations responded.

Emergency incident response notifications included: two vehicles overturned with utility pole and downed wires, as well as chlorine leak. Emergency responders were to identify methods for scene mitigation, vehicle extrication, and prioritizing which hazard needs priority attention.

Illustrated are various photographs from the evening’s event.
