Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

On Wednesday evening, August 17^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a roll over on Mount Joy Road between Cordrey and Cannon Roads.  It was reported to be a single vehicle incident.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics and the LifeNet2 Aviation Unit.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where needed, assistance with patient stabilization if needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery and incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a Chevrolet Pick Up was traveling on Mount Joy Road and loss control before leaving the roadway and overturning.   The vehicle occupants were transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.  The aviation unit and Engine 80-1 were cancelled while responding to the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
