Nature: Electrical Hazard

On Friday afternoon, August 12^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an electrical hazard on Okwaw Avenue in Riverdale Park.  It was reported to be a tree branch into the primary electrical lines. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80-15 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included notification of the utility service providers and location of the property owner for notification.

It appears that a section of a large tree limb fell onto the roof of the residential structure catching the primary overhead electrical wires as well.  The tree limb did penetrate the roof of the residential structure.  The utility service provider removed the tree limb from the overhead wires and the property owners were notified to obtain a tree cutting contractor for additional tree trimmings.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
