Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Long Neck Rd 32600 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, April 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Rudder Road. It was reported to be a three vehicle incident with the possibility of three persons desiring evaluation at the nearby medical facilities.

Emergency responses units included Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility, Rescue 80 form the Oak Orchard facility, the Delaware State Fire Police, as well as additional EMS services from the Millsboro Volunteer Fire and the Delaware State Police Trooper Aviation.

Emergency response units were assigned to coordinated scene mitigation activities, debris and fluid recovery, traffic control, as well as patient and vehicle stabilization tasks.

It appears that a Ford Expedition was traveling north on Long Neck and collided with a Pontiac Grand Prix from the read which then struck a Chevrolet Pick Up from the rear. The Ford protruded into the passenger compartment of the Pontiac.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with lane restrictions on Long Neck Road for the duration of the incident. The aviation unit was not utilized for transportation services.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
