Nature: Vehicle Accident

City: John J. Williams Highway, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday, March 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of the Super G. It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with both vehicles in the roadway.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation, scene preservation, assist with patient stabilization, if needed, vehicle stabilization, and debris and fluid recovery.

The westbound lanes of John J. Williams Highway operated with limit traffic flow for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control.

It appears that a gray Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound and collided with a silver Jeep Cherokee also traveling westbound. Both vehicle suffered damage and the emergency medical service provider addressed the patient care concerns.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
