Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: River Rd and Chief Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday morning, July 24^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle accident in the vicinity of River Road and Chief’s Road in the Riverdale community. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard area, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization if needed, traffic control where needed as well as incident mitigation efforts.

It appears a Wolf Lucky scooter and its operator was struck by the camper style mirror on a black pick-up truck which did not stop at the scene of the incident location.  The operator of the scooter was injured during the mishap and required additional emergency medical services.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control where needed.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
