Nature: Outside Fire

Location: Capriotti’s (80)/(Hydrant @ corner of John J Williams Hwy.)

On Tuesday morning, July 19^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an outside fire beside Capriotti’s Long Neck on Plaza Drive.  It was reported to be outside fire near the electrical boxes.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included evaluation, investigation, saturation of affected area, as well as overall incident mitigation.

It appears that an improperly disposed of cigarette was discarded into a mulch and flower bed near the facility’s electrical transformer box.  The quick-thinking storefront owner dosed the area with water pending arrival of the fire department who further saturated the area.
