Sussex County Fire Chief’s Assn. & Firefighters Assn. Hosts Legislative Breakfast

On Saturday, February 21st, the Sussex County Elected Official Legislative Breakfast Meet & Greet on behalf of the Sussex County Fire Chief’s Association and Sussex County Firefighters Association was held at the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company in Oak Orchard.

The intent of the breakfast event is to promote continuity, relationships, and fellowship amongst the Sussex County elected official delegations as well as the Sussex County Volunteer Firemen’s Association, Sussex County Fire Chief’s Association as well as each respective fire company president and fire chief.

This event is intended to highlight and acknowledge the collaborative efforts of the fire service and our respective fire districts as well as promoting dialogue for collaboration.

Specific acknowledgements were directed to Sussex County Council for their recent financial grants to all Sussex County fire companies as well as the House and Senate Members for their financial support with recent legislative effort and assistance as well as thank you for the firefighter revolving funds legislated to offer low interest loans to fire companies for apparatus acquisitions.

We, the hosting organizations, are thankful to our elected officials for participating and attending and extended our best wishes for another successful legislative session.

The event was coordinated by the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and the breakfast was catered by Indian River's Ladies Auxiliary.
