On Thursday evening, February 19th, representatives from the the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company attended the Delaware Valley Fire Chiefs’ Association Meeting hosted at the Ogden Fire Department in Upper Chichester, Pennsyvania in order to recognize one of its members.

Indian River’s Delegate – Joseph M. LeVan, Sr. served as President of the Delaware Valley Fire Chiefs Association during the March 2014 – February 2015 period.

The Delaware Valley Fire Chief’s Association was organized in 1962. The association primary consists of representatives from the states of Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The association encourages membership of former and current fire officers from career, combination, and volunteer departments who have the same goals in mind of providing an effective and efficient service to the public and at the same time to provide our firefighters with the best training and equipment available to perform their duties.

Indian River’s President Patrick Miller presented Joseph LeVan with a memorial plague and bulge to commemorate this term of office will representing all of Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
