Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Wednesday night, July 6^th, Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Millsboro (83) Fire Company EMS were alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road at Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 and Engine 80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation efforts which included fluid and debris recovery, securing the vehicle’s electrical system, traffic control, and obtaining a patient refusal from the driver.

Initial reports advised responding apparatus of a single vehicle that was traveling Long Neck Road which did not successful navigate the medians at the entrance to the public boat ramp.

Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic during the incident.

The Delaware State Police and DNREC are investigating.
