On Wednesday, June 29th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to establish a landing zoning for the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit #2 regarding a near drowning incident

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included landing zoning establishment off Banks Road, traffic control with closure of Banks Road for the assignment, assistance with patient loading into the aviation unit and overall incident mitigation.

The Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedic attended to the children that was transported to A. I. Dupont Children Hospital.

The Delaware State Fire Police closed Banks Road for the duration of this assignment.

All units were authorized to return to their respective quarters after the aviation unit departed.
