Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Layton Davis Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday afternoon, June 28^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at the Layton Davis Road intersection.  It was reported to be a two vehicle rear-end collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and incident mitigation.  This section of John J. Williams Highway was closed for the duration of the incident.

It appears that a maroon Honda Accord sedan and a red Pontiac Firebird collided at the intersection.  Both vehicles were traveling westbound at the time of the collision.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
