Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 26410 Rudder Rd Pots Nets Bayside, DE 19966

On Monday, June 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a structure fire incident on Rudder Road in the Pot Nets Bayside development.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine 80-1 and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation, positive pressure ventilation, extrication of culinary mishap items, and assistance with elderly occupant.

It appears that the incident occurred as a culinary mishap involving the microwave.  The EMS personnel did provide assistance to the occupant while smoke was being removed from the residential structure.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and limitation of access to the area for the duration of the incident.

All units were permitted to return to their respective quarters.
