Holly Lake Campsite Hosts Risk Reduction / Fire Prevention Initiative

On Saturday, June 25th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was invited to attend a Community Risk Reduction Initiative to highlight Fire Safety; Fire Prevention; Summer Safety Tips, Campfire Safety Tips, and Golf Cart Safety discussions.  This First Responder Presentation was hosted by Holly Lake Campsite - https://www.hollylakecampsites.com/

This Community Risk Reduction Initiative is intended to improve public safety and decrease loss of life and property through effective public education and community engagement.  This volunteer cohort from Indian River provided a demonstration of fire suppression hose handling and spraying exercises for participants, as well as a fire prevention booth with educational and informational hand-outs for Fire Safety & Fire Prevention Topics which included but not limited to:

  4. Smoke Detector Distribution where requested

  5. Fire Suppression Hose Handling/Spraying Demonstration

Approximately 105 persons attended the day’s events which included approximately 45 children who had actual hands-on experience with fire suppression activities, fire suppression hose handling and spraying activities, and much more.
