Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Indian Mission Rd and Cannon Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday, June 22^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road near the intersection of Cannon Road.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision with the possibility of three persons injured.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, Sussex County Paramedics, and a unit from Millsboro EMS.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, separation of vehicles, assistance with patient extrication, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and incident mitigation.

It appears that a maroon Nissan Sentra sedan and a white Honda Civic collided at the intersection of Indian Mission Road and Cannon Road causing air bag deployment and front-end damage to both vehicles.  All occupants of the vehicles were transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
